Few months ago I achieved one of my life goals - graduation. I needed some time to think about my future goals and things that are important to me.
Life goes on and you never know what will happen. You need to do what you love doing. You need to take risk, go against all odds. I’ve learned that you don’t need an idol in your life.
I’ll tell you a little secret!
If you have an idol you look after him and do the same things that he would. Hmm… It’s your life! You need to find and build your own way. Imagine the feeling when you follow your idols way and then found out that that’s not what you want.
Find a mentor or even better multiple mentors. They will help you find your way. People around us make us stronger we learn from their experience. Mentor is someone who cheers you and supports you.
I’m proud that I have mentors with great experience and I would like to thank them. I’d like to thank Matjaž Horvat and Vito Smolej. I first meet them when I got involved into Mozilla Slovenia. They are both really passionate mozillians with bags of experience from different fields.
I would also like to thank my bachelors degree mentor Andrej Dobrovoljc. Solution thinking is what we need in universities.
And last but not least Brian King. Brian is my official mentor in Mozilla Reps. From the beginning Brian was always supportive and helpful.
All mentioned people above inspire me and yes, they are my mentors.
I’m leveling up, that’s evident. Our Mozilla Slovenia community is growing and achieving great things. Second community meeting in 2013 was held in our new place.
A lot of things was done since the last meeting. So kudos to all Mozilla Slovenia members, you deserve it!
I’m really excited about Mozilla Space in Slovenia. It’s located in Novo mesto. The place is strategically positioned between Ljubljana and Zagreb. We have an office and co-working space which we share with StartUP Novo mesto. You can find us on the first floor of Business incuabator Podbreznik.
We had a great opening party!
Excitement before Mozilla Space opening …
And… we are opened!
You can see more pictures on Mozilla Slovenia website.
We don’t know what future brings us.. But it looks bright! :-)
Till next time …
Cheers, Nino Vranešič
